The Veil: Ancestral Roots

Ancestral Roots is a ritual of veneration and elevation, created to honor those who came before you and offer prayer and light to the ancestors of your lineage who wish to receive it.

This work centers on remembrance, gratitude, and reverence for their lives, sacrifices, wisdom, and contributions. Through veneration, we acknowledge our ancestors as people with their own stories, hopes, struggles, and gifts. Through elevation, we offer prayer and light with the intention of supporting their peace, healing, and continued spiritual growth.

Whether you are beginning your ancestral practice or deepening an established connection, Ancestral Roots offers a dedicated space to honor your people, tend your spiritual foundation, and carry their legacy forward with intention.

The ritual will be completed on October 31, 2026. Please send all petitions by October 30, 2026, to thirdgenerationpetitions@gmail.com. Include your full name and, if you wish, the names or family last names of ancestors you would like included.

Sample Petition

I offer this prayer in reverence to my ancestors, known and unknown, remembered and forgotten, and to those within my lineage who wish to receive light.

I honor the lives you lived, the burdens you carried, the love you gave, and the sacrifices that made my life possible. I remember that you were people with hopes, gifts, struggles, and stories of your own. May you be acknowledged beyond what you endured and remembered for the fullness of who you were.

To those who wish to receive it, I offer this light with love and gratitude. May it bring comfort where there is sorrow, clarity where there is confusion, and peace where there is unrest. May these prayers support your healing, spiritual elevation, and continued journey toward peace and understanding.

May those who were forgotten be remembered. May those whose names were lost be honored. May those who carried grief find comfort, and may those ready to move forward receive the guidance and strength they need. I offer this prayer with respect for your journey and your willingness to receive.

To the well-meaning ancestors who offer wisdom, love, and protection, may our relationship deepen through remembrance, discernment, and mutual respect. Help me recognize the blessings entrusted to me and carry them forward with care.

May my actions give meaning to this offering. May I honor you through how I live, how I care for my family, and what I choose to leave for the generations after me.
